A nostalgic and heartfelt birthday tribute could be seen and read on actor Karan Veer Mehra’s Instagram for his sister Kammy, where he posted several photos and memories celebrating their lifelong bond.
The post opens with a humorous tone with Karan writing “Now it’s my turn to discuss my second darling – the story is called “Meri Pyaari Behna, jisse humne mandir se uthaya tha” (My dear sister, who we jokingly say we picked up from a temple). Recognizing her very private nature, Karan jokingly said that if she sees these family pictures, she may be the one to kill him, but we couldn’t let forgo sharing the occasion.
In the emotional part of the tribute, Karan reflected on the number of different capacities his sister has worked in his life – not just sibling, but as a whole entire support system, “Not just sister – she is also my big brother, my dad… she is literally everything,” he wrote. “She has solved more than half of my problems – personal and professional. She gave up her life so I could live mine to the very fullest.”
He also noted that when he moved to Mumbai two decades ago away from an all-women household, his sister seamlessly slid into the role of being a responsible older sibling, “She not only changed the course of our family – she was managing our small family business on top of keeping our family together,” Karan wrote.
The post turned romantic and unexpected as Karan recalled a moment from years ago. His sister was a crew member working for Jet Airways and got him a complimentary upgrade when she requested the captain to do so herself.
“In exchange, the captain was going to ask her to marry him!” Karan turned the story into a heartmuting reveal. The story does not end here! The couple is happily married now and they are parents to two sons, Avi and Adi.
In closing his post with love and strength from his sister, Karan wrote:
“All in all — east or west, my sister is the best. We did indeed pick the right one from the temple!”
