Prime Video’s hit series Panchayat has done it again—setting a new benchmark with Season 4, which officially logged the biggest opening in franchise history. Streaming in over 180 countries and across 95% of India’s pin codes during launch week, the show continues its meteoric rise as one of India’s most beloved and globally resonant web series.
Buoyed by this phenomenal reception, Prime Video and The Viral Fever (TVF) have officially announced that Panchayat Season 5 is already in the works and will premiere in 2026.
First premiering in 2018, Panchayat has grown into a cultural phenomenon known for its slice-of-life portrayal of rural India. Season 2 had previously made history by winning the Best Web Series (OTT) award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2023.
