The definitive production will see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama; Rocking Star Yash as Ravana; Sai Pallavi as Sita; Sunny Deol as Hanuman; and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. In addition, the report will include another huge foible; two highly regarded composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman presenting the score, which in itself is historic.

Following the teaser announcement release, Director Nitesh Tiwari provided the teaser with an emotional note considering the last 10 years of work it took to reach the point of making this adaptation. He stated,
“Ten years of hope. Ten years of unwavering conviction to bring to the world the greatest epic ever written. A manifestation of collaboration with some of the best in the business to make sure the Ramayana can be viewed with the highest level of respect and reverence. Welcome to the beginning.”

It’s a massive glimpse at the world of Ramayana in the announcement video. We get heavy VFX landscapes followed by some stunning looks at the leads. Ranbir Kapoor appears to be the best fit as Rama with a drawn bow and arrow, climbing trees, and ready for action. Yash makes a brief but impactful appearance as Ravana and the internet becomes electric.
The teaser post went viral almost immediately upon posting earlier this week. Fans had a lot to say about Ranbir’s transformation and body language. “The way he holds the arrow—so good, and seems perfect! VFX, music are all goated. Ahhh they teased us too early—got to wait until 2026 lol,” one fan remarked.

Another fan said, “He got the body language good. Yash looks deadly and Ranbir, the way he held the bow and arrow, was beautiful.”

Yash’s Ravana also captivated fans. “Honestly, Yash looks convincing as Ravan. He has the aura to carry that character the dynamic of Ravan.”

But there were also fans expressing concern that Yash might steal the show from Ranbir in the final film. One fan joked, “Sorry but I feel Yash is going to cook Ranbir so hard. Lmao.”

On the casting, opinions may differ, but the consensus is that the visuals, scale, and music have raised the bar for all cinematic epics.
